About Ashley Lake:

Ashley Lake is nestled in an elevated basin at an elevation of about 3,950 feet only a few miles west of Kalispell, MT as the bird flies, but by road about 13 miles off of Hwy 2 on Ashley Lake Rd. The lake is about 2,850 acres in surface area (about 6 miles long and 2 miles wide) with an average depth of 89 feet and a maximum depth of 225 feet.

At certain times of the day the Ashley Lake glimmers with an emerald colored hue that is quite beautiful and is credited to a unique sediment from the incoming creek.  Recreational boating includes water skiing, quiet canoeing and fishing.  Ashley Lake has kokanee salmon, cutthroat, yellow perch and rainbow-cutthroat hybrid.  See additional photos of Ashley Lake to truly appreciate its unique beauty.

Development on Ashley Lake is guided by the Ashley Lake Neighborhood Plan (zoning) adopted in 1997.  List of Ashley Lake Homes and Land for sale.

Kalispell

Kalispell, Montana lies in the heart of the Flathead Valley and north of Flathead Lake and plays host as the seat of Flathead County and most commercial amenities and development including a strong Kalispell Chamber of Commerce. Centrally located to the Flathead Valley's recreational hot spots, Kalispell is 31 miles from Glacier National Park (FB link), the "Crown of the Continent."  Come enjoy the Montana-style hospitality, old west atmosphere and recreational adventures that abound in the Kalispell area. The community is supported by entities like the Flathead County Library System, Flathead Building Association and Flathead Convention and Visitor Bureau.  Watch this video about Kalispell and surrounding Flathead County.   Kalispell Map

Things to Do:
If you crave culture, take advantage of Kalispell's museums, retail shops and galleries.  Nearly two-dozen galleries and studios provide cultural nourishment. The Central School Museum hosts exhibits significant to Kalispell's historical background - built in 1894, it was Kalispell's first school.  The Hockaday Museum of Art, located in the 1903 Carnegie Library, is a nonprofit community art center and museum.  Exhibits include both historic and contemporary works with emphasis on Montana art.  The museum also offers classes, lectures and arts projects such as the "Arts in the Park" festival.  The highly recognized Glacier Symphony and Chorale (FB link) performs year-round, often sharing the stage with world-renown guests.

Schools:
Nine schools make up Kalispell District 5, plus two alternative schools called Bridge Academy and Laser Alternative School.

Restaurants:
Talk to anyone and everyone and they'll all tell you about Mooses Saloon for arguably the best pizza on Main Street.  For a cocktail and a longer stay try the North Bay Grille (FB link) on 1st Ave W.  The new star on Main Street has got to be ScottiBelli's for authentic Italian (Neopolitan) cuisine.  Across the street is Capers Restaurant (FB link) ... while it is a petite, intimate restaurant it is hardly petite on taste with its creative dishes and wonderful wine menu.

For quicker, lunchtime fare there's Norms News which will take you back in time to a 1950's soda fountain. While you are waiting for your burger and shake you can wander through 700 kinds of candy.  Drive-thru only folks will love Frugals at the south end of town.  These two eateries are so well-known they don't need a website!
